Freshworks is seeking a Deal Desk Strategist to back up account executives on the bigger, more complex opportunities in an assigned region. The person opens deal-strategy discussions early, warns when a deal needs extra structuring time, and documents the chain of steps required for each close. The role is on-site and includes owning order form structuring and paperwork, obtaining approvals, and working with Legal on standard terms and redlines.
Additional tasks include joining customer calls when clarity is needed, answering account teams' questions, supplying playbook direction for typical deal situations, and bringing senior staff in on non-standard or riskier terms. Coverage extends to quarter-end and month-end closes, with some after-hours presence during the busiest periods. Team scorecards track deal cycle time, approval speed, accuracy and sales satisfaction.
Applicants should bring eight to ten years in deal desk, sales ops, revenue ops or a comparable support role, with work on enterprise or bigger accounts. - Support larger and strategic deals in an assigned region by working hands-on with AEs
- Start deal strategy conversations ahead of key milestones and flag where extra structuring time is needed
- Record the chain of steps required to close every deal you own and monitor progress
- Join recurring check-ins with account teams to help deals move faster
- Handle deal structure and paperwork, including order form revisions
- Secure approvals and coordinate with Legal on standard terms and redlines
- Join customer calls to clarify deal terms when needed
- Answer account teams' deal questions and provide playbook guidance
- Help with quarter-end and month-end closing periods, sometimes working after hours
Requirements
- Eight to ten years in deal desk, sales ops, revenue ops or a similar role
- Hands-on history supporting AEs through deals of mixed complexity, including enterprise accounts
- Solid grasp of deal structure, order forms and common commercial and pricing terms
- Ability to recognize when non-standard terms need escalation
- Clear written and verbal communication, including comfort on customer calls
- Capacity to juggle several live deals when deadlines press
- A meticulous, process-minded style for paperwork and sign-offs
