Tether.io seeks a Developer Productivity Engineer for a full-time, 100% remote position. Tether builds digital asset solutions, including the USDT stablecoin, sustainable energy and Bitcoin mining operations, data and peer-to-peer communication tools like the KEET app, and digital education initiatives.
In this hands-on engineering role, you will help QVAC application teams develop, test, review, and deliver software efficiently. Your primary focus will be desktop and mobile applications, their shared runtime, AI harnesses, and associated skills packages. You will create and maintain developer tools, integrate AI agents into existing engineering workflows, and enhance automation for code quality and delivery.
The ideal candidate possesses strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js abilities, along with practical experience utilizing AI coding tools. Success in this position means establishing reliable automation, shortening feedback loops, and providing dependable tools for the engineering team. Candidates must possess excellent English communication skills and the ability to operate independently within a globally distributed, remote workforce.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, integrate, and maintain developer tools, repository guidance, and AI agents
- Build and operate agents in continuous integration and scheduled workflows to investigate failures and propose fixes
- Improve automated pull review processes by evaluating finding accuracy and minimizing reviewer noise
- Develop code quality checks and scripts monitoring complexity, file size, function size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions
- Collaborate with package owners on practical thresholds and targeted refactoring
- Enhance development environments, testing processes, and build and release workflows for engineers and agents
- Prioritize workflow improvements, support adoption via documentation and onboarding, and measure reliability and costs
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation used by others
- Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Hands-on experience using and integrating AI coding tools or agents with sound judgment regarding limitations and output validation
- Experience with Git, continuous integration and delivery, automated testing, and systematic debugging
- A strong approach to code quality including maintainable code, automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineers
- Clear English communication skills for a remote and globally distributed team
