Job Description
The Director of Financial and Corporate Communications shapes how Motive explains its financial performance and long-term value to employees, reporters, investors, shareholders and partners. The role leads planning and execution across corporate, financial and internal communications, and works to protect the company's reputation.
The director supports the public relations strategy, including visibility for the CEO and CFO, media and investor outreach, and crisis communications. Writing covers announcements, executive quotations, shareholder messaging and FAQ documents. The role also manages day-to-day work with outside PR agencies and keeps messaging aligned across finance, investor, legal, marketing and international teams and senior leadership.
When major financial news or milestones arrive, the director leads the communications plan in step with Finance, IR and Legal. The role monitors issues that could affect reputation, keeps messaging frameworks and holding statements ready for sensitive situations, and builds playbooks for incident response. Internal work covers employee updates, All-Hands content and change communications for C-level leaders.
Motive positions its platform as a way for organizations running field operations to manage drivers, vehicles and fleet spending, and says it serves close to 100,000 customers. The posting is full-time, describes a hybrid arrangement in San Francisco or remote work in the U.S., requires up to 15 percent travel, and lists a compensation range of $207,000 to $285,000 USD.
