Job Description
The Director, Product Design sets design direction for two product groups: one covering fleet cards, bill pay and spend controls, and one covering workforce tools for driver hiring, qualifications, incentives, training and performance. The director reports to the VP of Design and works with product, engineering and operations leaders to serve users such as fleet managers, drivers and staff at head office.
The role is strategic but stays close to the craft. The director keeps designing hands-on enough to tackle hard problems, mentors and grows a team of product designers, and pushes the adoption of AI-driven product development while keeping the experience consistent across products.
Core duties include setting design initiatives tied to business goals, establishing standards across the product lifecycle, leading projects from framing through delivery, and building and evolving the company's design system and component library. The director also presents design direction to executive audiences.
Motive helps organizations running field operations manage drivers, vehicles and fleet spending in one system, and says it serves close to 100,000 customers. The position is full-time and on-site in the United States, with a base pay range of $225,000 to $295,000 USD.
