Job Description

Airalo is hiring a Finance Transformation Director to modernise its finance function. The director takes charge of the finance side of several large initiatives: a new ERP, process automation, a five-day close, controllership and SOX-lite compliance, and standard data and dashboards. Working as programme manager and process architect, the director reports to the CFO and coordinates across the finance team and its external advisers.

On the ERP programme, the director guides finance design choices from the requirements document through data migration, parallel running and cutover, and works with external auditors on reporting after go-live. Design work spans revenue recognition (including deferred revenue, breakage and rewards), cost of sales and inventory, intercompany balances, consolidation across entities, treasury, tax and payables. Order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report and planning processes are to be reworked to take out manual effort. The director also defines the future finance operating model with controls and segregation of duties, builds driver-based forecasts aimed at plus or minus five percent accuracy, and reports the efficiency, accuracy and cost results of the transformation to leadership and the Audit and Risk Committee. The location is shown as the UK, with remote work also possible in Spain.

The role suits a qualified accountant with more than ten years in finance who has led an ERP rollout as finance lead on SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics and has run large transformations before.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the finance workstream of the ERP programme with integrators and vendors, from requirements through cutover.
  • Make the design calls across the finance value chain, from revenue recognition through to tax and payables.
  • Manage the transformation roadmap and steering committee, handling stakeholders and dependencies and driving adoption.
  • Re-engineer order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report and FP&A to cut manual effort and shorten month-end.
  • Lead the data migration approach, covering chart of accounts design, master data ownership and opening balances.
  • Define the future finance operating model: roles, controls, segregation of duties and approvals.
  • Build standard dashboards and driver-based forecasts on a single source of truth.
  • Quantify benefits and report progress to leadership and the Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Build automation and AI into the design, such as faster closes, anomaly detection, reconciliations and reporting.

Requirements

  • Over ten years in finance, with a clear record of leading large finance transformations.
  • Has led an ERP implementation end to end as finance lead, using SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Deep process re-engineering and automation across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report and FP&A.
  • Strong controllership background: SOX, SOX-lite, IT general controls and audit readiness.
  • Experience managing a multi-workstream programme with external advisers, with solid change management discipline.
  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or a Big 4 or consulting transformation background.
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders inside and outside finance.

Qualifications

  • Exposure to telecom, MVNO, SaaS, marketplace or other usage-based and partner-settlement revenue models.
  • Experience applying AI or automation to close, controls, reconciliations or reporting.
  • Working knowledge of modern data and BI tools such as dbt, BigQuery and dashboards.
  • Experience across several entities, currencies and jurisdictions, with M&A integration an advantage.
