Job Description

Airalo is recruiting a Marketing Strategy Director to work alongside its Growth organisation on acquisition, conversion and retention targets in every region and channel. The director functions as a central allocator of budget, time and effort, steering investment toward the moves with the largest incremental return, and advising Growth leadership on the trade-offs between markets and channels.

The role owns Growth's forecasting and planning from start to finish: gathering assumptions, testing them, coordinating with Data and writing the forecast story for leaders. The director maintains the planning logic and scenario tools built on the company's forecasting model, leads monthly and quarterly reviews, and runs a weekly rhythm of performance checks, KPI tracking, variance analysis and escalations. Spend advice draws on acquisition cost, predicted lifetime value, incrementality and return on investment. The director is Growth's primary partner to the Data team, turns analysis into operating routines, and leads diagnostic projects and 30-day problem-solving sprints, all inside the financial limits Finance sets. The location is shown as the UK, with remote work also possible in Spain or the UAE.

A suitable candidate has at least nine years in marketing strategy, business operations, FP&A, consulting or similar analytical work, has planned capital across several markets, and is strong with spreadsheets, SQL and business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own Growth's forecast, from testing assumptions through to the narrative shared with leaders.
  • Maintain and refine pacing, scenario and target-setting logic on top of the forecasting model.
  • Run monthly and quarterly business reviews and drive follow-through into real actions.
  • Operate the weekly Growth cadence: performance reviews, KPI tracking, variance analysis and escalations.
  • Recommend spend across regions and channels using acquisition cost, predicted lifetime value, incrementality and ROI.
  • Carry out regional deep dives into countries, segments and channels to find efficiency and growth levers.
  • Quantify trade-offs between markets and identify where budget should move.
  • Act as the principal business partner to the Data team, shaping its analytical priorities.
  • Help teams adopt dashboards and models through documentation, training and clear workflows.
  • Lead cross-functional diagnostics, efficiency audits and 30-day intervention sprints.
  • Build decision tools such as ROI models, sizing models, scenario tools and prioritisation frameworks.

Requirements

  • Nine or more years in marketing strategy, business operations, FP&A, consulting or similar analytical roles.
  • Experience owning planning cycles and shaping capital allocation across several markets or globally.
  • Competence in maintaining forecast models in Excel or Sheets and running scenario analysis.
  • Working knowledge of acquisition cost and lifetime value, pacing and ROI calculations.
  • Advanced Excel, plus confident use of SQL and BI tools such as Looker, Lightdash or Tableau.
  • Proven ability to turn data into recommendations on next actions, not just reports.
  • Willingness to challenge assumptions and make sense of incomplete data.
  • Strong communication with senior stakeholders and collaboration across channel, product and data teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience with media mix modelling.
  • Background in consumer technology, marketplaces, travel or subscription businesses.
  • Familiarity with attribution, acquisition cost and lifetime value modelling, incrementality testing and funnel analysis.
  • Comfort running experimentation roadmaps and reading lift tests.
  • Past experience as a business partner to a data or analytics group.
