Job Description
ElevenLabs is an artificial intelligence research and product company that develops speech, music, image, and video generation technologies for millions of users and thousands of businesses worldwide. The company is expanding its Core Platform team and seeks Full-Stack Engineers with a backend focus to build the fundamental infrastructure powering user accounts, workspaces, and permissions across all products.
The role involves working on one of two primary focus areas: managing user accounts and external customer workspaces, or designing generic resource and permissioning services utilized by internal engineering teams. Engineers in this position handle tasks from scoping and backend service development to creating administrative and settings user interfaces. Responsibilities include ensuring system security, executing safe rollouts for business-critical features, debugging live systems, and partnering with customer-facing teams or internal product teams to gather requirements.
ElevenLabs operates with lean autonomous teams that prioritize rapid experimentation, minimal bureaucracy, and high-velocity execution. The work environment values impact over job titles and encourages AI-driven working methods across the organization.

- Build and improve customer-facing building blocks including API keys, login experiences, analytics, admin tooling, and workspace security
- Collaborate with sales and customer teams to transform self-serve and enterprise feedback into product improvements
- Deliver end-to-end features spanning from backend services to administrative and settings user interfaces
- Design and build generic resource and permissioning services to help internal product teams build features safely and quickly
- Scope work within large existing systems, assessing rollout risks, migration requirements, and downstream effects
- Deploy modifications securely with minimal disruption to current users, internal teams, and existing systems
- Troubleshoot and operate built solutions utilizing code, logs, and customer reports
Requirements
- Expertise in Python programming
- Strong background in backend software development with the ability to work across the stack when necessary
- Experience with common infrastructure, system design patterns, cloud infrastructure tools, APIs, data structures, and storage solutions
- Solid understanding of security fundamentals and test design
- Care and attention to detail when modifying live, business-critical systems
- Ability to learn a large existing codebase quickly
- Comfort working with ambiguity to determine priorities and what needs to be built
Qualifications
- Experience with authentication, authorization, or permissioning technologies such as OAuth, SSO/SCIM, or RBAC
- Experience working with Kubernetes
- Experience building internal platforms or services used by other engineering teams
Core Skills
Benefits
- Annual discretionary stipend dedicated to professional development
- Annual discretionary stipend for social travel to meet up with colleagues
- Annual team offsite event bringing the entire team together in a new location
