ElevenLabs is hiring a Full-Stack Engineer (Backend Leaning) for its Studio platform. ElevenLabs operates as an artificial intelligence research and product enterprise offering AI voice models, customer experience agents, creator tools, and developer APIs to millions of users and businesses globally.
In this role, the engineer will work on the Studio platform, which serves as the environment where creators build and finish video projects utilizing a generative graph engine called Flows. The position focuses on owning the workflow that takes a finished Studio project and processes it through a dubbing pipeline to generate multiple languages and aspect ratios, along with automatically translated captions. This is a greenfield initiative without pre-written specifications, requiring the engineer to draft proposals through request for comments documents, review data structures alongside the team lead, and drive the project from initial concept to launch.
This position suits a strong backend generalist who is skilled in managing complex data structures and possesses product instincts to determine what features are valuable to build. ElevenLabs operates with high velocity, minimal bureaucracy, lean autonomous teams, and an AI-first approach across all company operations.
Responsibilities
- Own the produce once, distribute everywhere workflow that routes finished Studio projects through a dubbing pipeline
- Develop multi-language outputs, various aspect ratios, and auto-translated captions from finished Studio projects
- Write requests for comments documents to shape greenfield product specifications
- Pressure-test data structures in collaboration with the team lead
- Drive projects independently from the first draft stage through to launch
Requirements
- Function as a strong backend generalist with experience designing and shipping complex, data-heavy systems from end to end
- Demonstrate comfort with enterprise-grade concerns including usage reporting and accounts
- Provide evidence of product ownership through side projects, open-source contributions, or product-facing work experience
