Job Description
Culture Amp is hiring a Lead Brand Designer specialising in motion and video, based in San Francisco. The role is a senior individual contributor position within the Creative Studio, a small but central group in the marketing function whose work shapes how audiences experience the brand. The aim is to define how the company's brand moves and to grow motion and video output in a deliberate, consistent way.
The designer develops motion graphics and animated content for campaigns, product launches and web pages, always working within brand systems and standards. A key priority is building the brand's motion system and fitting it into the website component library, so that pages gain interactivity and small moments of delight. Social channels are also to be brought to life through motion and short-form video. The designer turns complicated product screens and concepts into clear go-to-market visuals, which calls for a working grasp of UI and UX so that animated interactions tell a product story.
Strong concept development, storytelling and the discipline to refine work through repeated iteration are central. The designer should already have a considered view on AI in creative practice, including when to rely on it and when to correct it, and should be ready to lead those conversations. Guiding external creative agencies through complex projects, and moving between major brand pieces and quick executional tasks, are also part of the job.
Applicants should bring at least seven years of design work in a marketing setting, ideally with a fast-growing business-to-business company, and a portfolio that demonstrates motion-led brand systems. Required skills include motion graphics under tight deadlines, fluency in the Adobe suite, familiarity with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D and Blender, hands-on use of AI creative tools, and experience contributing to a large design system that includes motion components. The posted US base salary range is $130,000 to $160,000.
