Job Description
This full-time, remote Marketing Analytics Director role is a builder-practitioner position covering data science, marketing strategy, go-to-market work and AI operations. The director leads the evolution of the marketing data stack, raises analytical standards across the marketing organization, and designs the systems that help analysts work more effectively, including AI agents.
The director works as the main strategic partner to the go-to-market leadership group, which includes the heads of demand generation, regional and events, marketing operations, and revenue operations, along with the CMO and sales leadership. The job centers on a two-track target-setting approach that weighs top-of-funnel volume against the quality of high-intent leads and long-term retention for Grafana Cloud.
Technical responsibilities include building machine learning models for attribution, marketing mix and lifetime value, overseeing the structure of marketing data in Google BigQuery, and performing causal analysis when the data shows anomalies. The director also translates technical findings into executive-level direction and presents them to executive and board audiences.
Agentic and automation work is a core part of the role. The director deploys LLM-based agents to monitor datasets and flag quality shifts, builds orchestration workflows that respond to market signals, and creates predictive scoring models that help Sales and Marketing prioritize prospects.
The posting asks for eight or more years in marketing analytics, go-to-market strategy or data science, including at least two years in a lead architect role inside a fast-growing SaaS or product-led environment. Managing people is not required. A degree at undergraduate or graduate level in a quantitative field is listed as a bonus, and advanced study such as a Data Science MS or a business MBA is also welcome.
