Job Description
Monzo is hiring a Martech Specialist for AI deployment in London. The post is offered on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, paying £80,000 to £100,000 plus benefits, and the posting says it can be hybrid between the London office and home. Reporting line runs to the head of Martech and AI, and the post sits in the Martech team inside Growth.
The aim is to move marketing from using AI as a productivity aid to using it as central to how the team delivers results. The specialist would lead workstreams and build AI agents, using tools such as Claude, to produce content at scale. The work covers converting routine manual tasks into dependable, governed automated sequences, deciding where a person stays involved, and connecting AI tools to the martech stack and its data. Because the business is regulated, integrations must include data protection, compliance and appropriate human controls.
Other responsibilities include programme management for the content scaling programme, which means sequencing work, coordinating owners and stakeholders, and driving delivery. The role also covers researching creative AI tools and deciding what fits, running selection processes for marketing technology such as a digital asset management system, and encouraging other teams to adopt AI and share what works.
Applicants should have built and shipped AI agents, automated pipelines or AI-based processes that others depend on, preferably within a marketing or content group. Strong programme leadership and a first-principles approach to complex problems are expected, along with a working knowledge of marketing and content production, and familiarity with marketing technology vendors and integrations. The posting asks for clear communication between business and technical teams, and for guardrails designed in from the start.
The interview process includes a 30-minute recruiter call, a half-hour first call with the hiring manager, a 45-minute case study review call, a 45-minute behavioural interview and a closing half-hour session with the hiring manager, joined by a marketing leadership team member. The posting says the process usually takes three to four weeks. A learning allowance of £1,000 a year, flexible working hours and a MacBook are also offered.
