Job Description
Axon Spain is seeking a Mission Engineer to join its team. The organization focuses on critical safety and justice issues, providing devices and cloud software designed to protect life. This position is embedded within strategic accounts to oversee the complete lifecycle of the company ecosystem, working directly with agencies to transform operational methods rather than simply deploying software.
This is an ownership-driven role rather than a standard relationship management position. Daily responsibilities fluctuate depending on mission urgency, agency needs, and emerging opportunities, meaning professionals who rely on fixed schedules or routine playbooks may find the environment challenging. Candidates will spend approximately three to four days per week on-site, building, deploying, and refining technical solutions directly with end-users and command staff. Success is evaluated strictly based on tangible production outcomes and working solutions rather than slide presentations or general activity metrics.
The ideal professional possesses technical expertise combined with operational leadership, builder instincts, and executive presence. Duties involve identifying agency friction points, designing custom automated workflows, integrating data pipelines, and establishing AI-powered capabilities using the employer platform stack. Additionally, practitioners troubleshoot technical hurdles, coordinate cross-functional resolutions, and gather field intelligence to inform broader product development roadmaps.
Responsibilities
- Discover agency challenges on-site and translate them into compliant, buildable solutions linked to mission goals
- Design and ship functional tools using the platform stack, including AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines
- Configure, integrate, and extend DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, and related software systems in client environments
- Troubleshoot technical issues on-site and coordinate root-cause resolutions across Product, Engineering, Support, and Services teams
- Build and deploy AI-powered workflows such as agents, prompts, RAG, and evaluations to solve specific agency problems
- Lead quarterly business reviews, mission reviews, and strategic planning sessions with agency leadership and stakeholders
- Maintain a regular on-site presence of approximately three to four days per week connected to client operations
- Partner with sales teams during onboarding handoffs to establish goals, metrics, and accountability from day one
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in customer-facing technical roles, program management, operational transformation, or complex deployment environments, typically spanning 8 or more years
- Proven background as a builder who has shipped functional automations, agents, workflows, integrations, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments
- Capability to operate across diverse technical and operational domains encompassing hardware, software, cloud infrastructure, and integrated systems
- Strong communication abilities with both technical staff and senior leadership within mission-critical environments
- Full ownership mindset capable of navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and cross-functional demands
- Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance while adhering to security standards
Qualifications
- Prior law enforcement or military experience
- Background working in public safety, corrections, or other mission-critical operational sectors
- Familiarity with Records, Evidence, digital workflows, AI-enabled platforms, or integrated public safety ecosystems
