Job Description
Axon Spain seeks a Mission Engineer for a position in Tampa. Axon creates cloud software and devices aimed at solving public safety and justice challenges. This is an ownership role embedded within strategic accounts where the professional manages the full lifecycle of the ecosystem and drives operational transformation rather than merely handling relationship management or routine support.
The day-to-day work lacks a fixed schedule and adapts to agency priorities, operational crises, and new opportunities. The professional identifies issues, designs and builds solutions on site using Axon platforms, and ensures successful implementation directly with real users and data. Responsibilities include deploying AI-powered workflows, troubleshooting technical issues across departments, building trusted connections with command staff, and translating field insights to the product and engineering teams.
This position suits an adaptable builder with experience in complex deployments, customer-facing technical roles, or operational transformation. Candidates must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, maintaining physical presence at agency locations, and shipping production-ready software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Discover agency problems on site and translate them into compliant, buildable solutions
- Design and ship working tools on Axon platforms including AI agents, workflows, automations, and data pipelines
- Configure, integrate, and extend DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, and related systems
- Iterate on deployments in the field until adoption succeeds and document patterns for reuse
- Troubleshoot on site and coordinate root-cause resolution with Product, Engineering, Support, and Services
- Build and deploy AI-powered workflows to solve specific agency problems
- Drive hands-on adoption and measure operational impact with daily users
- Lead quarterly business reviews, mission reviews, and strategic planning with agency leadership
- Share field intelligence and adoption barriers with Product and Engineering teams
- Partner with Sales to identify account expansion opportunities based on demonstrated impact
Requirements
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles, program management, operational transformation, or complex deployment environments, typically 8 or more years
- Demonstrated ability to ship working automations, agents, workflows, integrations, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments

- Strong communication skills with technical teams and senior stakeholders
- Ability to navigate competing priorities and maintain full ownership in fast-changing environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and adhere to security standards
- Maintain consistent on-site presence at approximately 3 to 4 days per week
Qualifications
- Former law enforcement or military experience
