Job Description
Axon Spain is seeking a Mission Engineer - Pasco County to join a fast-paced environment focused on safety and justice technology. The employer builds devices and cloud software designed to protect life, and this embedded position serves as the primary owner of customer outcomes within a strategic account. The role requires an adaptable builder who can handle day-to-day priorities that shift according to operational crises and mission tempos. Rather than following a fixed playbook, the successful candidate will design, build, and ship working solutions directly on site using Axon's platform, including AI-powered workflows, integrations, and data tools.
This position is suited for professionals with a strong technical background who thrive in ambiguous, fast-changing conditions and prefer hands-on creation over slideware or routine relationship management. The Mission Engineer collaborates closely with agency leadership and operators, maintaining a regular presence on site approximately three to four days per week. Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of the ecosystem, encompassing deployment, adoption, optimization, troubleshooting, and operational transformation. Candidates must be capable of navigating across hardware, software, cloud, and AI-enabled technologies while upholding security and compliance standards such as CJIS.
Responsibilities
- Discover agency problems on site and translate them into compliant, buildable solutions
- Design and ship working tools using Axon's platform, such as AI agents, automations, workflows, and data pipelines
- Configure, integrate, and extend systems like DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, and Records within the agency environment
- Test builds and iterate in the field with real users and real data until adoption sticks
- Troubleshoot issues on site and coordinate root-cause resolution with Engineering, Product, Support, and Services
- Build and deploy AI-powered workflows including prompts, RAG, and evaluations to solve defined problems
- Assess workflows on site to identify friction, define requirements, and lead strategic planning or mission reviews
- Capture customer insights and field intelligence to share with Product and Engineering teams for roadmap decisions
- Maintain an on-site presence approximately three to four days per week connected to agency operations
Requirements
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles, complex deployment environments, program management, or operational transformation
- Proven ability to ship working automations, integrations, agents, workflows, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments
- Comfort working across technical and operational domains including hardware, software, cloud, and integrated systems
- Strong communication skills with technical teams and senior stakeholders in mission-critical settings
- Ability to navigate ambiguous environments with a full ownership mentality and competing priorities
- Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and adhere to security standards
Qualifications
- Former law enforcement or military experience
- Experience in public safety, corrections, or other mission-critical operational environments
- Familiarity with digital workflows, Records, Evidence, AI-enabled platforms, or integrated public safety ecosystems
