The company is hiring a Multigres Deployment Engineer to oversee the operational infrastructure and deployment processes for Multigres, which is the distributed Postgres platform. In this remote position, the engineer will manage the Kubernetes-based infrastructure, author the Multigres Operator, and guarantee dependable cloud deployments.
This role suits an engineer with extensive systems programming abilities, profound Kubernetes knowledge, and a background in distributed systems. The team operates globally with roughly 400 members distributed across more than 60 countries. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Go-based Multigres Operator to orchestrate distributed Postgres deployments
- Design and implement robust deployment patterns for EKS and other Kubernetes platforms
- Manage storage and networking layers by utilizing CSI drivers, persistent volumes, and cross-cloud networking
- Develop internal tooling and automation for provisioning, scaling, and managing Multigres clusters
- Incorporate monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic capabilities into the deployment layer
- Partner with database engineers, SRE, and product teams to deliver cohesive deployment experiences
Requirements
- Proficiency in Go for systems programming and experience creating production-grade operators or controllers
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes internals, custom resources, and cloud-managed Kubernetes services such as EKS, GKE, and AKS
- Understanding of database deployment patterns, high availability, replication, and backup and restore processes
- Familiarity with consensus protocols, failure scenarios, and designing for resilience in distributed systems
- Background in cloud-native deployment tooling, Infrastructure as Code including Terraform and Pulumi, and cloud provider APIs
- Track record of establishing reliable, observable, and maintainable production systems
Qualifications
- Experience with CSI storage drivers and storage orchestration inside Kubernetes
- Knowledge of cross-cloud networking tools such as Cilium or Istio service mesh technologies
- Prior work involving sharded query serving systems like Vitess
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
