Job Description
Airalo is looking for a Principal Performance Marketing Specialist to lead app-first user acquisition across its regions. The role covers strategy and delivery across the main paid channels, while keeping campaign setup disciplined and measurement rigorous. Working with regional directors on strategy, budget and priorities, the specialist has a direct effect on how the company grows.
Key duties include owning user acquisition for the app and managing an annual performance budget above $20 million, covering forecasts, pacing and decisions to scale. The specialist designs campaign structure and audience strategy, sets bidding and optimisation approaches, and moves budget across channels such as social and Google app campaigns. Weekly performance reads and deeper analysis are produced, the limits of iOS measurement are interpreted, and monthly executive reviews are presented. Close work with data science, creative strategy, influencer and brand, product and outside agencies is part of the job. The posting lists the location as the UK, with remote work allowed in Spain or the UK.
The candidate should bring at least seven years of mobile app user acquisition experience, strong skills in Meta and Google campaigns, and comfort with director and vice-president stakeholders. Being methodical and detail-driven is essential.
Responsibilities
- Own app user acquisition strategy and delivery, where paid performance is the main growth lever.
- Run the yearly paid budget, including forecasts, pacing and scaling decisions agreed with regional directors.
- Lead paid campaigns across social, Google app campaigns and other channels, covering audiences, bids and ongoing iteration toward install and subscriber cost targets.
- Produce weekly performance reads and in-depth analysis that lead to concrete decisions.
- Enforce clean campaign operations: naming, QA, structure, guardrails, creative and geo rotation, and budget moves.
- Coordinate with data science, creative strategy, influencer and brand, product and agencies to find extra growth.
- Present monthly executive business reviews on what works, what does not and what comes next.
Requirements
- Seven or more years in performance marketing or app user acquisition.
- Strong expertise in Meta and Google app acquisition, including large-scale creative testing and disciplined optimisation.
- Experience managing large budgets, ideally above $20 million a year, with careful forecasting and pacing.
- Strong stakeholder management with directors and vice presidents.
- Fluent in unit metrics such as cost per install, cost per subscriber, conversion rate, click-through rate, customer acquisition cost and lifetime value.
- Grasp of mobile attribution and iOS measurement, including privacy-driven signal loss and incrementality thinking.
- Meticulous, with campaign hygiene treated as non-negotiable.
Qualifications
- Experience with mobile measurement partners such as Adjust, plus Looker, BigQuery and testing or incrementality frameworks.
- Travel experience is a plus.
- Background in competitive categories or at large scale is useful.
