Job Description
Dialpad is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join its quality assurance team and oversee the reliability of its AI-first platform. Dialpad builds an AI platform for customer experience designed to resolve customer issues across digital and voice channels through human and AI agent collaboration. In this role, the engineer will work hands-on to construct automation frameworks, manage quality for designated features, and leverage modern developer tools and AI-assisted workflows to boost test coverage and execution speed.
This position requires a hybrid schedule with three days spent working out of the office. The engineer will report directly to the Manager of Quality Assurance based in Bangalore. Ideal candidates are curious, scrappy, optimistic, persistent, and empathetic individuals who possess extensive software testing experience and a drive to build reliable automated test suites.
Responsibilities
- Design, run, and upkeep UI and API automated tests utilizing Java or Python alongside Playwright or Selenium
- Conduct end-to-end and regression testing to confirm products are ready for release
- Take ownership of quality assurance for assigned modules through test planning, execution, and regression sign-off
- Target roughly 70 to 80 percent automation coverage utilizing dependable test suites
- Examine test failures, spot defects, and deliver thorough root cause analysis
- Employ AI coding tools like Copilot, Cursor, and Gemini for test generation, debugging, and coverage enhancement
- Test and validate AI and LLM driven functionalities for prompt and response precision
- Work alongside engineering personnel to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes
- Participate in continuous integration and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions
Requirements
- Have five to eight or more years of professional background in quality assurance and test automation
- Demonstrate robust practical experience using Python or Java combined with Selenium or Playwright
- Possess solid familiarity with functional, regression, API, and user interface testing
- Show working knowledge of REST APIs, Postman, and continuous integration pipelines
- Display strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication capabilities
Qualifications
- Prior background working with communication platforms, contact centers, or VoIP technology
- Previous exposure to reliability or performance testing
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding instruments
