Job Description
Halter provides virtual fencing technology that helps farmers and graziers run more productive and sustainable operations with less labour-intensive work. The company says it is backed by Tier 1 investors and has grown from Tasmania into Queensland, New South Wales and other states, with a growing base of customers across Australia.
This field-based sales leadership role covers southern New South Wales. The manager is the second senior seller on the NSW team and is expected to meet farmers in person, run on-farm demonstrations and turn prospects into paying customers. Duties include defining sales targets and commission plans for the team, coaching and developing junior sales staff, and managing each opportunity from first contact through negotiation. The manager finds new leads through outbound outreach, referrals, industry events and inbound enquiries, and hands accounts to Customer Success for implementation, satisfaction and renewals. Customer feedback goes back to the product roadmap, and the manager helps refine the sales process so that it becomes quicker and more reliable as the business grows.
Candidates should bring at least five years of full-cycle sales experience, a history of creating new sales opportunities and closing high-volume deals, and a value-based approach to selling. Results focus, strong time management and the ability to think quickly under pressure are important. Background in beef farming or agriculture is a major plus, as is technology sales experience. A university degree is welcome but not required. The pay package combines base pay, benefits and an employee share scheme, along with parental leave, a $1,000 annual self-development budget and unlimited annual leave.
