This role focuses on strengthening revenue accounting operations and controls while aligning practices with global financial processes. The person in this role will collaborate with colleagues across DoorDash and Wolt.
The position suits a professional with experience managing full-cycle financial close processes and maintaining robust accounting operations. Key duties involve overseeing month-end close operations for revenue, handling U.S. GAAP compliance, resolving data issues, managing external audits, and designing a SOX control framework. The role also expects fluency in AI-assisted workflows using tools like Claude Code and Cursor, alongside advanced data analytics capabilities using SQL and visualization tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close operations for revenue accounting by reviewing high-risk journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and strategic flux analyses to maintain U.S. GAAP compliance.
- Identify and resolve complex data issues and systemic reconciliation gaps while creating automated workflows.
- Direct end-to-end revenue accounting strategies, offer technical guidance to finance leadership, and delegate tasks to junior staff.
- Lead the annual external audit strategy for revenue as the primary contact for technical accounting schedules and management responses.
- Collaborate across Finance, Legal, Sales, and Product to streamline contract reviews, set up policies, and enforce compliance.
- Design, implement, and maintain the SOX control framework across revenue operations for continuous monitoring.
- Evaluate complex revenue models, forecast trends, and produce business insights using SQL and visualization tools.
- Execute ad-hoc strategic projects, technology implementations, and process transformations.
- Utilize AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor to speed up data analysis, automate reconciliations, and draft documentation.
Requirements
- Professional accountancy qualification including CPA, ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent designation.
- Public company accounting experience within a relevant industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing other team members.
- Technical knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606 and IFRS 15, U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SOX internal controls.
- Track record of managing full-cycle financial close processes and maintaining accounting operations.
- Experience building cross-functional alignment and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience using NetSuite or an equivalent ERP system.
Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake and using SQL for data querying and financial modelling.
- Active and proven usage of AI tools, including LLMs and coding assistants, in day-to-day work.
