Job Description
Motive is recruiting a Sales Development Representative to work from its Austin, Texas office. The SDR is the first contact prospects have with the company, identifies and screens fresh sales opportunities, and sets up the Account Executives who will close those deals. The role is on-site in Austin.
Much of the job is outbound: phoning and emailing prospects, testing leads against set criteria, and learning what each organization cares about and where it is stuck. Qualified leads are booked into meetings with Account Executives, and the SDR helps plan outreach and the next steps on each deal. The SDR is also expected to know Motive's products and the wider industry well enough to make conversations useful, and to meet monthly and quarterly pipeline goals.
The position is meant to build prospecting, qualification, and relationship skills, with a route into full-cycle sales or SDR leadership later on. Pay consists of a base salary plus uncapped commission, and the posting states on-target earnings of $85,000 USD.
A bachelor's degree is required, and previous sales work is preferred. Motive is looking for someone who writes and speaks well, works hard, bounces back from setbacks, and takes coaching in stride while contributing to a team. Background in cold calling, or in CRM software such as Salesforce or HubSpot, would help.
