Job Description
Swiggy is recruiting a Sales Manager I for a full-time, on-site field role. The posting does not state a city or work location. The job centres on owning a defined geographic territory and building lasting partnerships with assigned restaurant partners, which means frequent in-person visits and a target of 80 to 90 face-to-face meetings each month.
The manager works out what each restaurant needs by asking how it sells, how deliveries run, what it spends on marketing and what it hopes to achieve, then presents Swiggy's products as practical solutions. The sales cycle covers the whole monthly relationship, from pitching and negotiation through activation and ongoing support. Revenue targets for the territory are the manager's responsibility, as is tracking their own pipeline and conversion rates.
Analysis is a major part of the work. Adoption metrics are tracked to find out why certain restaurants are not growing, problems are diagnosed and corrected, and field feedback is passed back to inform product direction. The manager also monitors trends and competitors in the local market. Day-to-day data sits in city and central trackers, so advanced Excel, Google Sheets or WSP skills are essential.
The ideal candidate has zero to two years of B2B selling, field work or business development, ideally in FMCG, food and beverage or hotels, and a record of meeting targets. Because restaurants trade around the clock, the role calls for taking ownership of partners' growth at any hour. Building pivot tables, using VLOOKUP and creating dashboards without help are expected. A post-graduate qualification in marketing or sales is preferred.
