Pavago is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager on behalf of a client to direct accounting operations across several business units and locations. This remote, full-time leadership position requires direct oversight of the month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal accounting controls. The professional selected will collaborate closely with the VP of Accounting and organizational leadership to guarantee precise financial data while reinforcing systems to facilitate future expansion. The ideal person for this job possesses a strong command of U.S. GAAP, multi-entity accounting backgrounds, and advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online. Daily tasks involve reviewing P&L statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll records, alongside conducting bank and balance sheet reconciliations. The position also entails managing external audit procedures, evaluating internal financial controls, and standardizing accounting workflows across entities. Applicants must be comfortable operating independently, demonstrating rigorous attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies promptly.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the month-end close across multiple entities and locations
- Review financial records, profit and loss statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
- Perform and review bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain accurate accounting records within QuickBooks Online
- Execute audit procedures across revenue, inventory, fixed assets, debt, equity, and other accounts
- Evaluate internal controls and identify accounting risks as the organization scales
- Collaborate with the VP of Accounting to establish scalable systems and standardize processes
Requirements
- At least five years of accounting experience with direct ownership of the month-end close
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or a related discipline
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and standard domestic accounting practices
- Demonstrated experience managing accounting functions across multiple entities or locations
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities
- Hands-on background in financial reporting, reconciliations, and payroll
Qualifications
- CPA license
- Two to four years of public accounting or external audit experience
- Background working in rapidly growing companies
- Experience with multi-location businesses
- Proven track record of improving accounting systems, internal controls, and operational processes
