Responsibilities
- Assess and raise the output quality of live models and algorithms
- Carry out studies and trials to develop fresh AI models and methods
- Build and optimize computer vision and machine learning algorithms for real-time use on embedded platforms, including the next-generation AI dashcam
- Code in Python and C++ for vision methods, machine learning services, model training, compression and porting workflows
- Convert cutting-edge research prototypes into dependable product functionality
- Partner with embedded, backend, frontend, hardware and QA colleagues, plus the wider AI group, to keep systems dependable
- Tackle problems such as detecting objects, segmenting images, recognizing items and geometric vision work
- Create self-running pipelines for shipping models, checking them and active learning
- Guide junior engineers and act as technical lead on demanding projects
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in computing, electrical engineering or a closely related discipline
- At least five years developing algorithms for vision, deep learning and ML
- Strong math background spanning vision, deep learning, ML and optimization methods
- Practical work with model-training libraries like PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Strong Python or C++ skills
- Practical record of creating algorithms and apps for embedded hardware
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD, a strong plus
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services, continuous integration and delivery, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
- Earlier work tuning and shipping machine learning models to embedded hardware is highly valued
