Job Description
Deliveroo's London analytics engineering role is full-time and centres on producing clean, tested and carefully documented data models for data scientists and business users. Outputs are delivered via Snowflake and Looker. The engineer reports to an Analytics Engineering Manager within the team.
A minimum of six years in analytics, data or BI engineering is expected. The engineer works with product engineering colleagues to make source data fit downstream needs, maintains SQL transformation logic, and reviews data scientists' modelling so the team gets denormalised and aggregated tables. The role also aims to make Looker more effective as a product for around 1,500 current active users, so that datasets are easy to find and use.
The ideal candidate writes excellent SQL, understands warehousing and modelling, and has worked with cloud MPP platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift. Hands-on time with a BI tool like Looker is an asset, as are disciplined version control, ETL or ELT skills, DAG-based scheduling, Python for automation and integration work, and knowledge of the Looker API.
The employer presents itself as a fast-growing start-up dedicated to making local food more convenient, and frames the post as a chance to build an engineering career with visible influence.
