Job Description

Motive is hiring a Senior Content Marketing Strategist to own the strategy and results of its most important content programs. This is a senior individual contributor role in the United States, listed as on-site, with a posted pay range of $116,000 to $137,000 USD. Audience and business goals are converted into content across the whole funnel, aimed at large prospects and existing accounts as they move through purchase and growth stages.

Typical initiatives include executive-authored articles, answer-engine and generative search optimization, customer and peer narratives, audience-created material, signature studies, partner collaborations and social-led campaigns. The strategist sets plans and editorial direction, guiding every initiative from spotting an opening and writing its brief through creation, circulation, refinement and results tracking. Working with the customer marketing group, the strategist develops a program led by clients and specialists, drawing on leader conversations, expert discussions, customer proof points and peer testimony. Content and business data determine where investment goes and how material gets reused.

The strategist serves as a content adviser to product marketing, campaigns, demand generation, communications, SEO, brand, sales and executives, shaping messages and program priorities. The role owns the content side of annual research, event programs and product launch blogs, and sets the editorial standards for external content. The strategist also identifies systemic gaps and builds AI-enabled methods that improve quality and speed, while keeping human judgment where it counts. Candidates need six or more years of B2B content marketing, an enterprise-focused portfolio, and strong writing and editing skills. Exposure to field operations, fleet work or freight is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategy, roadmaps and editorial direction for thought leadership and flagship research
  • Lead full-funnel programs from brief through distribution, optimization and measurement
  • Build the customer- and expert-first program together with customer marketing
  • Use content and performance data to prioritize spending and improve reuse
  • Advise cross-functional partners on messaging, audience strategy and content choices
  • Pinpoint recurring holes in coverage and create repeatable, AI-assisted processes
  • Own the content elements of research reports, event programs and product launch blogs
  • Set editorial standards and raise the quality of external content

Requirements

  • Six or more years of B2B content marketing, with a strong enterprise-focused, full-funnel portfolio
  • Experience owning a content function or major program from strategy through measurement
  • Exceptional writing and editing, including turning technical, data-heavy subjects into clear stories
  • Experience conducting executive and subject-matter expert interviews
  • Ability to design content ecosystems across audiences, funnel stages, formats and channels
  • Strategic judgment and the capacity to bring clarity to ambiguous, cross-functional work
  • Track record of producing standout pieces from first-party data, client learnings or specialist opinion

Qualifications

  • Exposure to field operations, fleet management or freight
