Twilio is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join its Controllership PMO team on a remote basis in Mexico. In this position, the professional will spearhead high-impact and high-visibility strategic projects spanning mergers and acquisitions integration, global system deployments, and automated operational enhancements. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who wants to direct cross-functional initiatives, advance automation frameworks, and ensure scalability and compliance across global business units. The individual will collaborate extensively with departments such as Accounting, Tax, SEC Reporting, Accounts Payable, Billing, Payroll, Research and Development, and Go-To-Market. While the position operates remotely, employees may occasionally need to travel or report in person for team gatherings, functional off-sites, or customer meetings.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex strategic initiatives by partnering with senior Controllership personnel and cross-functional teams to ensure work is delivered within scope, on schedule, and on budget
- Identify, validate, prioritize, and manage the execution of operational process automation opportunities
- Support CFO-level automation efforts through advocacy, knowledge sharing, and project assistance
- Drive organizational change management by communicating proactively with stakeholders, resolving problems, and fostering an environment for new ideas
Requirements
- Possess eight or more years of experience in accounting
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of US GAAP with the ability to interpret, document, and operationalize complex accounting scenarios
- Bring direct experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), including identifying risks, assessing exposures, and implementing mitigations
- Show a proven history of managing cross-functional projects from inception to completion
- Exhibit successful automation of accounting and operational workflows along with hands-on familiarity with diverse automation tools
- Display strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for multiple organizational levels
- Demonstrate the capability to build productive working relationships across different departments and hierarchy levels
- Maintain the ability to codify data and generate lasting institutional documentation
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in global public companies generating one billion dollars or more in annual revenue
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP or comparable systems, covering implementation and troubleshooting
