This senior manager position in London has a hybrid schedule and sits in the Accounting sub-team of Deliveroo's Finance function. It reports to the International Controller. The aim is to reinforce general ledger and accounting operations and align them with the company's global financial processes.
Responsibilities centre on running day-to-day accounting that meets U.S. GAAP, internal policy, SOX control requirements and external audit expectations. The manager shares accountability for the complete general ledger close, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, and drives process change and automation to speed up monthly, quarterly and yearly closings.
The manager also influences accounting policy and standard operating procedures, and contributes to monthly variance reviews alongside the FP&A and Financial Reporting groups. The organisation is growing quickly, and dependable financial information from this role supports many cross-functional decisions.
Essential criteria include substantial experience in public company accounting within a relevant sector, along with a history of managing and mentoring staff. Applicants need firm command of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, PCAOB rules and SOX internal control design, plus a record of completing full-cycle close activities. An accounting degree, membership of ACA, ACCA or CPA, or an equivalent professional background is expected. Familiarity with NetSuite, Coupa and GSuite would be a plus.
Responsibilities
- Run daily accounting activities in line with U.S. GAAP, internal policy, SOX controls and external audit demands
- Align general ledger work with the group's global processes
- Share responsibility for the full-cycle close by reviewing entries and reconciliations
- Lead process improvement and automation for periodic close cycles
- Help shape accounting policies, procedures and monthly variance analysis with the FP&A and Financial Reporting groups
Requirements
- Significant public company accounting background in a related industry
- Experience leading and developing accounting personnel
- Working command of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, PCAOB rules, and SOX control frameworks
- Demonstrated oversight of full-cycle financial close
Qualifications
- Accounting degree, ACA, ACCA or CPA credential, or equivalent professional experience
- Exposure to NetSuite, Coupa or GSuite
