Job Description
This senior event manager post belongs to the Event Experience group inside Brand Marketing at Freshworks. The group sits under the Director of Event Experiences and defines strategy, standards and working methods for company events worldwide. This role turns those guidelines into individual events. The posting prefers candidates located in San Mateo, Bellevue or Boston.
Over the first half-year to a year, the manager takes charge of a set of high-profile events and works as a planning and operations partner from start to finish. Duties include event schedules, attendee experience, production, relationships with vendors and agencies, and coordination with other teams. The manager leads run-of-show planning, stage management, audio-visual setup, technical production and onsite operations, and works with creative teams on stage design, signage and digital assets. Budgets are owned from first estimate through final reconciliation, and each event is reviewed afterward to refine future work.
Candidates need eight or more years running complex corporate events, conferences, executive gatherings or experiential programs, ideally for technology companies. A bachelor's degree in events, marketing, communications, hospitality, business or a similar field is preferred, though equivalent experience counts. Strong project, vendor and money management is required, including contracts, buying processes and AV. Helpful extras include experience with B2B software or IT service management firms, supervising India-based suppliers across time zones, and using Cvent or similar platforms. The listing is on-site, with a base range of $160,000 to $195,000.
