Job Description
Motive is recruiting a product design leader to head its new Maintenance and Fuel vertical while growing the design footprint in Bangalore. The post reports to the VP of Design and pairs hands-on design leadership with regional duties for South Asia. Designers on this team shape web and phone apps used by fleet supervisors, drivers and office staff, with a goal of making intricate processes simpler.
Within the vertical, the leader guides designers and takes ownership of projects from initial framing to concept, detailed design, testing and refinement. The manager partners with product and engineering on direction and priorities, contributes to the design system, and explains design reasoning to senior leaders. The listing also asks the manager to champion current AI tools that speed up exploration and prototyping, and to roll out AI-assisted working methods across design and adjacent teams.
On the regional side, the manager is the local design lead in Bangalore, coaches designers who report to other managers, runs critiques and knowledge-sharing sessions, and links regional groups with global design leadership. Responsibilities
- Lead a team of designers on the Maintenance and Fuel vertical
- Own design execution from first concepts through validation and iteration

- Mentor designers who sit outside the manager's reporting line in South Asia
- Recruit, guide and oversee a team of product designers located in Bangalore

Requirements
- Substantial product design experience in UX, UI and interaction, including leading design teams in SaaS
- Record of shaping complex, data-dense web and app products, preferably in fleet or freight operations
- Experience collaborating with teams distributed across time zones
- Demonstrated success recruiting and expanding design teams
- Deep familiarity with design systems
- Hands-on comfort with current AI tools and workflows
- Strong storytelling, communication and business sense
