Job Description
This full-time position is remote and open to candidates across Europe. The posting lists eligible countries including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain, and expects the person to work on an EMEA schedule that overlaps well with customer hours. The job belongs to Deepgram's Applied Engineering group, which combines solutions engineering, architecture and technical support work.
Deepgram sells real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech APIs, along with tools for building voice agents. Customers may consume them from the cloud or run them as self-hosted or on-premises software. In this role, the engineer guides discovery calls on strategic deals, converts a prospect's commercial goals into measurable criteria, and designs proof-of-concept evaluations with agreed data sets, metrics and timelines.
The work is hands-on. Working hands-on, the engineer produces prototypes and demo integrations with Deepgram's SDKs and APIs, and suggests designs that trade off accuracy, latency, scale and cost. Those recommendations cover cloud, self-hosted and hybrid options as well as data residency. The engineer also handles the security and privacy paperwork that European enterprise buyers send, including GDPR, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 questions and vendor risk checks, and helps fix issues that surface in trials.
Responsibility does not end at the signed contract. The engineer stays involved through production launches and later expansions alongside the Account Executive, and converts recurring customer questions into reusable samples, reference designs and field guides. Deepgram describes itself as AI-first and expects staff to use current AI tools as a routine part of their work. The posting notes that the role is not suited to anyone seeking a rigid, traditional office schedule.
Candidates should bring five-plus years of solutions engineering or a comparable customer-facing pre-sales role, and have built software professionally in a language like JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Rust. Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, containers, orchestration and secure API design is also required.

- Recommend architectures that account for accuracy, latency, scalability, cost and data residency
- Answer security and privacy questionnaires that cite GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 or third-party risk checks
- Diagnose problems surfacing mid-trial and push fixes through Product, Engineering and Support
- Produce reusable material such as reference designs, runbooks and field guides
- Assist Account Executives with positioning, demonstrations and technical validation

- A history of leading enterprise proofs of concept that delivered a technical win

Qualifications
- Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice quality analysis or LLM-orchestrating AI agents
- Comfort with real-time media protocols such as SIP and WebRTC, plus WebSocket links
- Background running self-hosted or hybrid stacks, including Helm installs and observability in production
- Knowledge of auth models, access control and the data residency questions raised in European enterprise assessments
- Speaking a second European language, for example German, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish, adds value
