Job Description
ExtraHop is a network detection and response company, founded in 2007, that helps organisations see cyber threats, vulnerabilities and performance problems that other tools miss. Its platform covers data centre, cloud and SASE environments. The company describes its purpose as safeguarding networked businesses.
The Cloud team builds the secure, scalable platform behind ExtraHop's cybersecurity products. This senior engineer owns the design, delivery and day-to-day operation of key cloud services and steers architectural decisions for distributed systems. Work includes leading complex initiatives from design through rollout and optimisation, building cloud infrastructure with infrastructure-as-code and Kubernetes, embedding identity, encryption and other security controls, strengthening monitoring, alerting and incident response, and refining CI/CD pipelines. The engineer also mentors colleagues through code reviews and technical direction and evaluates new technologies for practical benefit.
Candidates need roughly six to eight years or more of software engineering experience, with emphasis on cloud and distributed architectures. Proficiency in Go, Python or a similar language is expected, along with deep Kubernetes and Terraform or Helm experience and hands-on work with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, SQS and IAM. Owning production support and incident handling is part of the job. Eligible applicants are US citizens or nationals, US permanent residents, or people admitted as refugees or granted asylum in the United States. The stated salary range is $160,000 to $180,000, plus bonus and benefits, and the company operates a hybrid and remote model.
