ExtraHop makes network detection and response software that exposes threats, weak spots and performance problems hidden inside a company's traffic, spanning on-premises, cloud and SASE setups. This Solutions Architect III role belongs to the company's Solutions Architecture group, which is judged on customer results rather than hours billed. Architects in the group take on the knottiest business and technology puzzles across many industries.
The work is investigative. The architect maps how a client's network and applications are built, works out how to capture the most useful data from packets, and profiles applications common to particular industries. Root cause analysis for high-profile incidents, with recommendations for recovery, falls to this role. The architect also writes custom tools in Python and JavaScript against the platform's APIs, designs data views that help investigators, and automates routine tasks.
Customer contact is hands-on. The architect leads teaching sessions for client staff and creates technical guides and written material that support product improvement and marketing. Expected skills include advanced GUI work, advanced trigger scripting, intermediate REST API scripting, and a working grasp of networking and application design.

Requirements

- Grasp of core networking from layers 2 through 4 and of application protocols such as HTTP, SQL and DNS.
- Understanding of how web applications, databases, caching and distributed systems behave.
- Scripting ability in Python and JavaScript.
- Clear written communication, and the independence to own practice outcomes.
