GitLab is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join its ANZ team, based in Sydney. GitLab operates as an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, helping organizations accelerate digital transformation, reduce compliance and security risks, improve operational efficiency, and elevate developer productivity. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to prospective and current customers across the region, demonstrating how the AI-powered platform fulfills both business goals and technical needs across the entire software development lifecycle.
This position suits professionals with a strong background in technical pre-sales, consulting, or client-facing roles who want to guide organizations through modernization and digital transformation. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams to direct technical evaluations, design optimal solution architectures, manage proofs of value and workshops, and represent the voice of the customer back to Product Management. Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery sessions, software demonstrations, and validation processes to illustrate platform value across the complete software development lifecycle.
- Manage technical evaluations as the primary responsible individual, which includes solution design, proofs of concept, proofs of value, workshops, and responses to tenders and audits.
- Partner with Account Executives and regional sales teams throughout ANZ to design and implement account strategies for customer acquisition and expansion.
- Form and deepen relationships with business leaders and technical practitioners, helping them achieve successful platform adoption and become advocates.
- Advise customers on modern software engineering, cloud architecture, security, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices to enhance return on investment.
- Communicate customer feedback, use cases, and competitive insights to Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Develop and maintain expertise in GitLab, cloud technologies, AI, and DevSecOps by producing reusable examples and technical resources for partners and clients.
Requirements
- Experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, or equivalent customer-facing roles guiding solution design and evaluation.
- Proficiency with the end-to-end software development lifecycle, continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows, and modern DevSecOps methods.
- Hands-on familiarity with source control, collaboration systems, and continuous integration platforms like GitLab.
- Practical understanding of cloud computing principles and deployment, operational, and security options.
- Capacity to direct technical evaluations such as proofs of concept, handle tenders or audits, and run value stream assessments and workshops.
- Effective presentation and technical communication abilities tailored for audiences ranging from practitioners to senior executives.
- Skill in developing trusted relationships, active listening with empathy, and advocating for customers internally.
