GitLab seeks a Solutions Architect, Public Sector - East to operate as a trusted technical advisor for U.S. government agencies. In this position, you will help public sector clients understand how the DevSecOps platform and Enterprise Edition can achieve their specific mission objectives. You will own the technical validation phases of the sales cycle, direct proofs of concept, and link modern software development and cloud capabilities to tangible business value.
The ideal candidate will partner closely with sales and cross-functional departments, offering technical direction from initial introductory discussions through successful deployments. You will also channel customer feedback back into product, sales, and marketing teams to influence future development. Responsibilities
- Interact with public sector clients through both remote sessions and on-site visits to deliver technical presentations, tailored software demonstrations, and interactive workshops
- Partner with sales personnel to design and execute account strategies that expand adoption within government environments
- Manage technical evaluations by designing and delivering proofs of concept and proofs of value, alongside proposal and audit support
- Draft Customer Success Plans that document technical success criteria and pre-sales transition details
- Cultivate long-term relationships with business and technical stakeholders to establish internal advocates
- Relay customer insights and feedback to internal product, sales, and marketing teams to guide product roadmaps
- Execute Value Stream Assessments to discover areas where clients can enhance software delivery performance
- Generate reusable educational assets and examples for customers and partners
Requirements
- Background in technical pre-sales, consulting, or IT fields involving U.S. public sector or federal clients
- Hands-on operational experience with GitLab and modern software development practices like CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies operating within regulated or security-focused environments
- Demonstrated ability to connect technical architectures to concrete business or mission results
- Strong communication and relationship-building capabilities for leading customer-facing meetings and presentations
