GitLab is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join its team in the United Arab Emirates. In this position, you will act as a trusted advisor to prospective and current customers, helping them understand how the platform addresses technical needs and business goals across the entire software development lifecycle. You will guide organizations through digital transformations by leading technical discovery sessions, software demonstrations, and validation processes. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect Manager and collaborating closely with Account Executives and cross-functional departments, you will own technical evaluations such as proofs of value and workshops, design solution architectures, and represent the voice of the customer to Product Management.
This role suits professionals with experience in technical pre-sales or consulting who possess deep knowledge of software development lifecycles, cloud computing concepts, and modern DevSecOps methodologies. Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, product demonstrations, and validation activities to showcase how the DevSecOps platform meets customer objectives across the complete software development lifecycle
- Drive technical evaluations as the responsible individual, managing solution design, proofs of concept or value, workshop creation, and technical elements of audits and tenders
- Partner with Account Executives and regional sales teams to formulate and execute account strategies supporting customer acquisition and expansion
- Foster deep relationships with technical practitioners and business stakeholders to guide them through platform adoption and advocacy
- Advise customers on continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, cloud practices, and modern software development to maximize return on investment
- Communicate customer feedback, use cases, and competitive intelligence back to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in GitLab, DevSecOps, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies by creating reusable resources and best practices
- Engage in continuous professional development through mentorship, learning, and sharing knowledge within the Solutions Architect team
Requirements
- Experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, or comparable customer-facing roles guiding solution design and evaluation
- Proficiency in the end-to-end software development lifecycle, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and modern DevSecOps practices
- Hands-on experience with GitLab or alternative source control, CI/CD, and collaboration platforms
- Practical understanding of cloud computing technologies, deployment options, security, and operational workflows
- Ability to lead technical evaluations, contribute to tenders or audits, and run customer workshops or value stream assessments
- Strong technical communication and presentation abilities tailored for audiences ranging from technical practitioners to executive leaders
- Region-specific experience within the MEA area
- Fluency in speaking both Arabic and English
- Availability to travel at least 25% of the time
