ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Staff Technical Architect for infrastructure and cloud to guide the evolution of corporate and cloud systems. This senior individual contributor position sits on the technical architecture team in Bengaluru, focusing on secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. The role involves connecting cloud decisions to enterprise architecture roadmaps, establishing standards, and researching emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate will shape infrastructure strategies, design reference architectures, and collaborate closely with product, core systems, and integration teams. Responsibilities include defining cloud governance for Azure and GCP, guiding infrastructure as code, supporting resilience and compliance requirements, and anticipating AI and machine learning infrastructure demands. Candidates will also evaluate vendor options, mentor engineers, and partner with finance on FinOps practices.
This position requires at least ten years of progressive experience in cloud, platform, systems, or infrastructure engineering, coupled with extensive architecture expertise in complex enterprise environments. ServiceNow embraces flexible work policies, evaluating work personas based on operational needs and the employee's location.
Responsibilities
- Design current, transition, and target state cloud architecture aligned with business needs and multiyear roadmaps
- Establish reference architectures and standards covering data centers, compute, storage, networking, containers, and backups
- Guide cloud governance and guardrails for Azure and GCP, including landing zones and cost controls
- Lead infrastructure architecture reviews and provide technical input for major decisions
- Partner with security teams to embed zero-trust, compliance, and resilience into cloud standards
- Evaluate AI and machine learning infrastructure demands, including specialized hardware and hybrid hosting
- Collaborate with integration, core systems, and product departments to align infrastructure roadmaps
- Work alongside finance and operations to manage capacity planning, workload placement, and lifecycle management
Requirements
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, cloud, platform, or systems engineering
- Broad expertise spanning cloud, network, compute, storage, cost, and resilience domains
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Azure architecture models
- Familiarity with agentic AI patterns like RAG, A2A, and MCP
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns such as messaging, APIs, and event-driven design
- Background in defining enterprise cloud governance, standards, and guardrails
- Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for engineering and executive audiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a related discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Background working in large, global, regulated, or mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks including ITIL and CMDB alignment
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or COBIT
- Experience with Agile and Scrum release planning practices
