Job Description

Motive is hiring a Senior Technical SEO Specialist to own the technical search foundation of its web presence. The role covers site health and structure, international SEO and the launch of new pages. The aim is for key pages to be crawled, interpreted, ranked and cited correctly, by traditional search engines and by AI answer platforms alike.

The specialist runs regular reviews of crawling, indexing, rendering, redirects, canonicals, internal linking and structured data, then converts the results into requirements engineers can act on. Overlapping or duplicate pages are another focus: the specialist helps merge, redirect or separate them so every topic has a single page built to rank. AI-assisted tooling helps rank the list of fixes, and a person reviews the output before any change goes live.

The role collaborates with web strategy, engineering, editorial, product marketing and growth teams. The specialist also explains technical trade-offs to colleagues outside engineering. Product, solution and industry templates are a priority, with the goal of earning rankings and conversions for non-brand queries. The listing asks for at least five years of technical SEO work, ideally in B2B software or sites built on many templates, plus a bachelor's degree. The role is on-site in the United States, and pay varies by location.

Responsibilities

  • Run recurring technical reviews covering crawlability, indexation, rendering, redirects and canonicals
  • Turn crawl and search data into a ranked list of fixes that people sign off before release
  • Help AI answer engines reach and extract priority content, including crawler rules and server-side rendering
  • Fix keyword cannibalization and duplicate pages by merging, redirecting or differentiating them
  • Oversee hreflang, regional sitemaps and canonical logic across international sites
  • Set technical requirements for new templates and check launches and migrations for SEO issues
  • Raise rankings and conversions on commercial-intent product, solution and vertical pages for generic searches

Requirements

  • Five or more years of technical SEO work
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Solid background in how crawlers index sites, JavaScript rendering, sitemap design, hreflang, Core Web Vitals and mobile usability
  • Experience organizing site structure across product, long-tail and localized pages
  • Working knowledge of schema.org markup and JSON-LD validation
  • Hands-on use of Google Search Console, Semrush and Screaming Frog, plus server log analysis
  • Hands-on use of AI or agent-style workflows to speed up audits, with a human checking the output

Qualifications

  • Background in B2B software or complex sites with many templates
  • Grasp of generative search and AI-driven search features

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Medical, pharmacy, vision and dental coverage
  • Paid vacation and paid sick leave
  • Disability protection, both short-term and long-term
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k) contribution
  • Benefit eligibility rules apply
