ServiceNow is hiring a Senior Technical Writer for a full-time position located in Bengaluru. This role suits an experienced communication professional who wants to design, draft, and maintain user-centered documentation for multiple software applications and product features. The person in this position will collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams while following a structured content strategy.
In this role, the writer will help refine content development practices, contribute to the DITA-based information model, and establish writing standards for the business unit. Candidates need to build deep knowledge of the ServiceNow product ecosystem and understand the specific audience they support. The position offers an opportunity to provide strategic input for future content initiatives and mentor fellow writers within a globally distributed software development setting.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to plan, write, and maintain user-centered documentation for various product features and applications
- Contribute input to help shape future content strategy for the supported business unit or product
- Help evolve writing styles, standards, content development processes, and the DITA-based information model
- Build a strong understanding of the product ecosystem and master the specific product area and user base
- Independently plan, create, and deliver documentation within a globally distributed, fast-paced software development environment
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring other writers, adapting to changing priorities, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration
Requirements
- Possess 5 to 12 years of professional experience in technical communication
- Show English language proficiency through a HackerRank assessment covering grammar, sentence structure, and clear procedural writing
- Demonstrate an understanding of content development life cycles and processes
- Provide writing samples or prior technical writing work that displays the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Bring experience authoring in DITA or another XML-based structured authoring architecture
Qualifications
- Experience leveraging or critically evaluating the integration of AI into workflows, problem-solving, decision-making, or tools
