Job Description
Canonical wants a Software Alliances Director for EMEA. The post is remote, full-time and centred on the region. Seven or more years of relevant experience is the stated ideal. The Software Alliances group helps major software vendors fit their products to Ubuntu and other Canonical offerings, AI tooling included. Together they plan joint roadmaps and go-to-market activity, produce content, and set up processes that deliver validated open source from the cloud out to the edge.
The director sets the account strategy for a major account, region or market vertical, and coordinates with partner product, engineering, alliance and marketing staff on open source plans. Other duties include gathering partner needs, finding gaps and new openings for Canonical, aligning messaging and launches with marketing and product, creating reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, decks and white papers, and growing Ubuntu uptake inside target alliance accounts through enablement sessions. The strongest applicants have produced results in deal-making or product roles, leading as well as contributing hands-on on large accounts. They think clearly at strategic and tactical levels, speak to audiences from frontline teams to senior executives, and keep themselves on track in a remote-first setting.
