Job Description
Cloudflare runs one of the biggest networks on the Internet and offers services that protect and speed up web properties for customers from solo bloggers to large enterprises. This remote Software Engineer role centers on the distributed infrastructure behind the company's global server fleets, along with the automation and tooling that support expansion.
The engineer designs, deploys and keeps running distributed systems built to stay reachable, respond quickly and scale horizontally. Other tasks include finding bottlenecks in kernel and network stacks, tuning resource use across the fleet, and building internal automation for deployment, configuration and monitoring. The role also contributes to architecture reviews, capacity planning and day-to-day system health. Working alongside the security, network and product groups keeps infrastructure changes aligned with the rest of the stack.
Applicants should have hands-on time running Linux production systems or distributed platforms at meaningful scale, and fluency in at least one systems or scripting language. The posting values methodical diagnosis of complex system failures and using AI to make daily work better.
