Job Description

The solution engineer is the primary technical lead in conversations with prospective and existing merchants. Its purpose is to move deals forward, from qualification through to support, working side by side with the sales team. Typical work includes presenting and building product demos, running technical discovery, designing solutions for prospects, and passing product improvements and feature requests to the product team. The engineer also collaborates with onboarding leads and customer success staff so clients get a smooth start.

Responsibilities

Partner with account executives on new and current deals
Present and build demos that show the product
Run technical discovery and design solution architectures for prospects
Feed product gaps, fresh ideas and feature asks back to the product team
Support onboarding leads and customer success colleagues so onboarding stays on schedule
Explain complex solutions to commercial audiences

Requirements

Solution engineering background on either the pre-sales or the post-sales side
Skill in making intricate technical designs clear to people without a technical background
Hands-on use of API tools such as Postman, plus debugging and logging tools
Track record of building links with payment service providers
A solid grasp of how APIs function
Coding ability in at least one widely used language
Strong storytelling skills
