Databricks is seeking a remote Specialist Solutions Architect - AI/ML to guide customers through advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning technical strategies. Operating as a trusted advisor to technical leadership and engineering teams, this role is responsible for driving platform adoption, leading complex architectural discussions, and positioning the company's data and AI solutions.

This position suits an experienced technical professional who possesses a strong background in solutions architecture or technical pre-sales, and who can design scalable, production-grade solutions while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical strategy for accounts from the initial discovery phase through production deployment and consumption growth
- Lead complex architectural discussions covering multi-agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, guardrails, tool calling, and evaluation systems
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for customer architects, engineering leads, and directors
- Drive technical wins in competitive situations by showcasing custom-built solutions that highlight platform differentiation
- Coordinate cross-functional resources including partners and solutions architects to meet intricate customer needs
- Provide structured feedback regarding customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence future product direction
Requirements
- Six or more years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or a senior hands-on technical role
- Experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP for production machine learning applications and drift monitoring
- Working knowledge of large language models and agentic systems, including vector databases, fine-tuning, guardrails, and frameworks such as OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face, or LangChain
- Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL with the ability to perform live coding, debugging, and solution construction
- Deep expertise in designing distributed data systems architecture, streaming architectures, scalable pipelines, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms
- Proven ability to lead architecture sessions involving whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analysis with senior technical stakeholders
- Experience managing production deployments on public cloud environments while handling infrastructure, security, and governance considerations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Fostered a developing technical specialization in areas such as data governance, real-time and streaming, migrations, or machine learning and AI
- Databricks certifications including Data Engineer, ML, or Platform
- Prior background working with competitive platforms like Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or AWS native services
- Professional background within a cloud provider or a data and AI company
- Industry domain expertise in sectors such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or Media
