ServiceNow is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its API Authentication team within Platform Security Engineering in Hyderabad. This group establishes the security foundation connecting every application, integration, mobile device, and AI agent to ServiceNow. The position focuses on core authentication capabilities such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, API access policies, and mobile sign-in, while addressing secure access for AI agents.
This role suits an experienced software professional who can design dependable, scalable software components with strong performance. The selected candidate will partner with product managers to transform specifications into robust solutions, build customizable user interfaces using modern frameworks, write automated tests, and participate in code reviews. The ideal candidate brings a background in object-oriented programming, front-end technologies, automated testing, and integrating AI into work processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software components
- Partner with product managers to convert requirements into architected solutions
- Build customizable and intuitive user interfaces utilizing modern UI frameworks
- Contribute to creating new products while improving existing features
- Integrate automated tests into development pipelines to maintain release quality
- Take part in design and code reviews focused on performance, maintainability, and testability
- Create test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, and performance areas
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Java or similar object-oriented languages
- Experience with front-end frameworks including Angular, React, or Vue
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, object-oriented design, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or Selenium
- Understanding of reliability, observability, production readiness, and software quality principles
- Skill in troubleshooting complex systems and optimizing stack-wide performance
Qualifications
- Experience leveraging critical thinking to integrate AI into decision-making, work processes, or problem-solving
- Experience with AI-powered tools or workflows including dataset validation, inference consistency, and model predictions
- Familiarity with Unix-based systems, debuggers, profilers, IDEs, and source control tools
