ServiceNow is hiring a full-time Sr Software Engineer for an on-site position in Hyderabad. This IC3 role focuses on building maintainable and reliable cloud-native and AI-native software applications. Working closely with tech leads, the engineer handles well-defined features, learns modern development methods, integrates AI and ML services, and develops strong software engineering fundamentals. The position emphasizes mentorship, technical growth in Java, JavaScript, and the ServiceNow platform, and active contribution to product development.
Daily responsibilities involve designing, developing, testing, and deploying assigned features, writing unit tests, debugging staging environments, and following secure coding standards. The successful candidate will also take part in code reviews, use CI/CD pipelines, practice prompt design assistance, and leverage AI tools for daily productivity.
Responsibilities
- Develop software features and components under the direction of tech leads
- Write clean code and comprehensive unit tests while following coding standards
- Implement AI-native features including prompt design assistance and API integration
- Manage assigned features from initial design through testing and deployment
- Troubleshoot issues in development and staging environments
- Apply secure coding practices and handle customer data responsibly
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from tech leads
- Engage with CI/CD practices, automated testing, and deployment pipelines
Requirements
- Possess 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Understand fundamental software engineering concepts like version control, testing, and debugging
- Have basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Show familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern web services
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts with hands-on experience using LLMs or AI APIs
- Prior experience or coursework with the ServiceNow platform
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies
