ServiceNow is hiring a full-time Sr Software Engineer for an on-site position in Hyderabad. This role focuses on developing enterprise-grade systems, building server-side technologies for collaboration platforms, and creating interactive applications that scale with complexity. The ideal candidate is passionate about new technologies, eager to contribute fresh ideas, and ready to collaborate with experienced team members to evolve the technology stack and deliver modern experiences to customers.
The successful applicant will build software from design to delivery, write clean and reusable code, establish software engineering processes, and create developer tools, libraries, and frameworks. Responsibilities also include mentoring colleagues, promoting knowledge-sharing, and ensuring that products remain simple to use while offering customization capabilities for customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Build highly interactive applications that scale with application complexity
- Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for other developers
- Apply new technology and innovation to enhance platform functionality
- Write high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code following software engineering best practices
- Collaborate with product owners to understand requirements and manage code from design to delivery
- Design user-friendly software that allows customers to extend and customize functionality
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new products, features, and the existing product suite
- Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge-sharing
Requirements
- 5+ years of software industry experience for bachelor's degree holders
- Significant experience designing and implementing highly interactive and high-volume applications
- Expertise in backend technologies including Java, JUnit, REST, and JSON
- Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
- Solid JavaScript experience with frontend technologies
- Competence in design, usability, and scalability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Experience working with Python
- Hands-on DevOps experience including CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk
