Job Description
ServiceNow seeks a Sr Staff Software Engineer to join their team in Hyderabad for a full-time, on-site position. In this role, you will design, build, and operate production-grade agentic AI systems embedded across the ServiceNow platform, enabling autonomous agents to reason over real enterprise data, take action across workflows, and run safely at Fortune 500 scale.
The ideal candidate will focus on system designs, agentic architecture, enterprise-grounded reasoning, trust, safety, and governance, as well as retrieval and grounding. Your daily responsibilities include integrating frontier models, evaluating cost, latency, and capability trade-offs, raising the technical bar through architecture decisions and code reviews, and communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship multi-agent systems with orchestration, tool use, planning loops, memory, and failure recovery
- Build agents that leverage ServiceNow data layers such as CMDB, Workflow Data Fabric, and Knowledge Graph
- Own guardrails including observability, human-in-the-loop controls, and compliance infrastructure
- Collaborate with the search team to ensure grounded, low-latency retrieval via RAG pipelines and hybrid search
- Integrate frontier models from Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI into the Sense to Decide to Act to Govern architecture
- Provide technical leadership through architecture choices, code reviews, and coaching on agentic design patterns
Requirements
- 12 to 15 years of software engineering experience with fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
- Hands-on depth in designing, shipping, and operating production agentic systems
- Experience with automation, continuous integration, build, and release management processes
- Working experience with frontier AI SDKs including prompt engineering and structured outputs
- Familiarity with production RAG and retrieval patterns like vector stores and hybrid search
Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of full stack software development with a specific advantage for JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
