This role suits an experienced engineer who combines deep technical execution with strong cross-functional communication and collaborative mentorship. The individual will work alongside designers, product managers, marketers, and infrastructure specialists to evolve backend services, web applications, content platforms, and cloud infrastructure. A major component of the job involves utilizing artificial intelligence workflows, coding agents, and large language models for day-to-day investigation, prototyping, and production tasks while maintaining rigorous oversight of the outputs.

Responsibilities
- Define and document the architectural evolution of web applications, backend services, CMS platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
- Investigate ambitious concepts independently and develop working prototypes into reliable production systems.
- Identify systemic gaps and bottlenecks to resolve performance, reliability, and delivery issues.
- Create reusable internal tools, reference implementations, and shared modules for multiple teams.
- Partner with international engineering teams across different time zones to drive asynchronous collaboration.
- Mentor lead engineers and team members through design reviews, pair programming, and practical training.
- Establish code and design standards while integrating accessibility, security, and privacy practices.
- Implement and refine AI workflows for investigation, prototyping, and production tasks.
- Present architectural risks, opportunities, and priorities to engineering and business leadership.
Requirements
- Extensive background in system architecture, distributed systems, data flow, caching, and failure handling across multiple teams.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Practical experience developing secure APIs, managing asynchronous processing, and handling backend systems with Node.js.
- Solid understanding of semantic HTML, modular CSS, DOM APIs, and responsive layout troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms like Contentstack, Contentful, or WordPress.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.
- Understanding of accessible user interface patterns and assistive technology testing.
- Hands-on experience working with coding agents, LLM APIs, and automated engineering workflows.
