Tide is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join its information technology division. In this senior individual contributor role, you will act as the technical subject matter expert for core IT platforms, taking ownership of architecture, configuration, security, governance, and overall platform health.
The role involves working extensively with a cloud-native tech stack that includes Google Workspace, Netskope SSE/SASE, Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, and Atlassian tools. You will lead technical design decisions, establish a configuration as code methodology using Terraform and Git, build monitoring solutions via APIs, and serve as an L3 escalation point for complex incidents. Additionally, you will support compliance and audit processes for frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, FCA, and DORA, while mentoring fellow engineers and service desk personnel.
This full-time position carries a gross annual salary range of €62,000 to €87,200, with final compensation depending on your expertise and contributions. Responsibilities
- Manage architecture, configuration, and security across core IT platforms including Google Workspace, Netskope, Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, and Atlassian
- Implement configuration as code practices utilizing Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines, scripting remaining configurations
- Oversee endpoint security and compliance controls such as EDR integrations, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and device compliance
- Create operational health metrics, monitoring systems, and reporting tools via APIs and automation to detect configuration drift and operational risks
- Determine technical architecture standards, lifecycle planning, vendor evaluations, and proof of concepts for workplace technology
- Handle L3 incident escalations and conduct root-cause analyses to deploy permanent fixes
- Provide evidence and documentation to support audits and compliance standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, FCA, and DORA
- Mentor team members and write runbooks and documentation on Confluence
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in IT or workplace engineering, with at least 3 years at a senior level in a cloud-native, SaaS-first organisation with over 1,000 users
- Extensive background using Configuration as Code on SaaS platforms
- Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, and PowerShell, alongside working knowledge of REST APIs
- Deep enterprise-scale administration experience with Google Workspace, including automation via GAM/GAMADV-XTD3, Admin SDK APIs, or Apps Script
- Production experience in the design and operation of Netskope or comparable SSE/SASE platforms such as Zscaler, Prisma Access, or Cloudflare One
- Extensive experience running a mixed Mac and Windows endpoint fleet using both Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune
- Solid understanding of identity and access management principles including SAML, OIDC, SCIM, MFA, conditional access, and device trust
- Clear communication abilities suited for engineers, stakeholders, and non-technical personnel
Qualifications
- Admin-level experience with Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management, including JSM automation and Assets
- Prior experience working in fintech or regulated financial services environments such as FCA, DORA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, or SOC 2
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services, specifically networking and IAM related to ZTNA
- Professional certifications such as Google Workspace Administrator, Jamf 300/400, Netskope NSK200/300, MD-102, or Atlassian ACP
