Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer focused on OpenTelemetry Python instrumentation for a remote position based in Spain. Grafana Labs provides a fully managed observability platform used by over 10,000 organizations to resolve incidents, scale telemetry, and ensure reliability. Customers include major global enterprises such as Microsoft, Salesforce, and Bloomberg.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to distributed systems and critical software infrastructure within a globally distributed, fully remote organization. Responsibilities
- Contribute to product roadmaps and guide personal career objectives
- Collaborate with team members to deliver new features and iterate based on results
- Drive engineering projects through every stage from initial concept to customer operations
- Contribute to open-source initiatives outside the core team scope
- Design, build, operate, and maintain reliable, high-performance distributed systems
- Participate in on-call rotations to manage active services
- Mentor colleagues and engage in architecture and design discussions
- Acquire deep knowledge of cloud products, customer needs, and large-scale codebases
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Java, C++, or Rust
- Experience independently delivering software projects from brainstorming to production release
- Background in cloud software development or systems engineering
- Ability to write clean, robust, and performant code that others can easily maintain
- Strong communication skills and an independent, self-starter work ethic
