Job Description

Actian specializes in cloud data warehouses, hybrid data management, and data integration technology, and the organization is currently scaling rapidly. To support this growth, Actian is hiring a Strategic Alliance Director to manage and expand relationships with 6 to 8 North American consulting and systems integrator partners.

This revenue-accountable position requires an individual who can handle the entire partner lifecycle, including selection, onboarding, enablement, Go-To-Market planning, and revenue delivery. The person in this role will report to the Global Head of Partnerships and collaborate closely with regional representatives and the North American Sales Leader. Performance will be evaluated primarily on partner-sourced customer opportunities, deal closures, joint pipeline volume, and meeting strategic execution targets.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in the analytics, data, or cloud ecosystem and feels comfortable working alongside field sales teams. Responsibilities will involve organizing joint customer discovery meetings, establishing governance criteria, gathering competitive intelligence, and building partner enablement programs. This position requires over thirty percent travel to partner offices, customer sites, and company locations, with a preference for candidates based in major North American markets such as New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Texas, or Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and onboard 6 to 8 strategic North American partners while establishing governance through monthly reviews and quarterly business reviews
  • Co-create partner business plans, pipeline targets, and regional account lists aligned with company sales territories
  • Participate in joint customer discovery meetings with regional representatives and the North American Sales Leader
  • Manage deal registration, pipeline tracking, and quarterly performance reviews
  • Develop and maintain partner enablement programs, sales training, technical certifications, and resource portals
  • Design partner-specific Go-To-Market strategies, vertical focuses, and joint marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with the North American Sales Leader on territory mapping and regional alignment
  • Collect competitive intelligence from partners and share win or loss insights with the product and sales teams

Requirements

  • Over 7 years of experience in partner business development, strategic alliance management, or channel sales with consulting and systems integration firms
  • Proven track record of building and scaling 5 or more key partner relationships with major firms like Deloitte, Accenture, EY, KPMG, or Slalom
  • Direct experience overseeing partner-originated pipeline, customer meetings, deal conversion, and partner business plans
  • Demonstrated success in designing and executing enablement programs and Go-To-Market strategies
  • Familiarity with consulting partner sales models, margin structures, and incentive alignment
  • Ability to travel over 30 percent of the time to partner offices, customer sites, and company sales offices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Master of Business Administration degree
  • Background in the data, cloud, or analytics ecosystem
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery
